Leveraging the LCAP to Strengthen Maintenance and Operations

Wednesday, 3/30, 11:00am

High-quality facilities support a positive school climate, student achievement, teacher retention and community involvement. But, goals and objectives regarding FMOT are often absent in the Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP). This workshop will highlight key strategies for FMOT leaders to participate in the process of setting LCAP goals and measurable objectives, establishing milestones for progress, gaining positive attention, and increasing resources for their important work.

Facilities Planning & Master Scheduling; Integrating Business and Ed Services
Thursday, 3/31, 4:00pm
Successful facility projects depend on knowing how the campus is used by educators. Understanding the details about secondary master schedules can help ensure that improvements to facilities actually work for students and staff. Participants will learn about why it’s important to be well-informed about educational programming. The presenters will offer guidance and tools used to align the work of Facilities, Maintenance, and Operations with Educational programming.
Landscaping, Lights, and Lots of Color!

Friday, 4/01, 8:00am

More than simply curb-appeal, taking care of appearance is about supporting a Welcoming School Community. Attractive facilities instill pride and motivate staff and students to do their best work. Welcoming schools also inspire people to support programs and favor bond measures. Participants will learn how to garner support for curb-appeal projects and then to lead teams of facilities, maintenance, and grounds staff to be successful. Participants will be able to collect helpful input from school staff, conduct walk-through visits, and establish timelines that optimize efficiency and success.
